POWER AERIAL

MY AERIAL WAS SNAPPED SO I REPLACED IT WITH A STANDARD ONE. NOT POWER LIKE THE ORIGINAL WHICH HAS A BUILT IN RELAY. NOW I HAVE NO POWER TO HEAD UNIT. DOES THIS MEAN I HAVE TO PURCHASE ONE TO SUIT HEADDECK THROUGH SONY FOR SYSTEM TO WORK? PLEASE HELP
