Below is an overview of different buttons and icons on the map display.
For more detailed information about this screen, please see the owner’s manual.
Quick Reference Guide
Select a Destination input
method.
(In this example Places
and By POI Category
Type is selected.)
Select desired place type.
(ATTRACTION is selected.)
Select the search method.
(Sort by POI Name is
selected.)
Type in the POI Name.
A list of matches may
appear. Select desired
destination.
Select OK to Proceed to
set the destination. Map is
displayed. Follow the
navigation.
■ Basic Operations
The following example briefly describes how to input a destination.
The Route button is grayed out if Home address or Destination have not been set. Car must be
parked when using Edit and Setup feature.

Home
Easily get back to a
pre-determined home
location from anywhere
you’re located.
Setup
Allows you to customize
various characteristics of
your navigation system’s
look and feel.
From the Map or any screen, touch the Main Menu to access the following menus:
Edit
Edit Home destination,
Address Book, and
Previous Destinations.
Route
Allows you to view maneuver
lists, re-route or take a detour
route, changing routing
methods, or stop turn-by-turn
guidance.

Bluetooth
Status Icon
Go to Bluetooth Setup and turn on Bluetooth.
Start Discover Mode.
On your mobile phone, make sure Bluetooth is on, then search for
Bluetooh devices.
Select NVE-P1 name and enter the passkey shown on the Navigation
screen.
When your mobile phone is connected, the message, "Syncing phone..."
appears momentarily, then the Bluetooth icon appears momentarily.
When the address book is downloaded, the message, "Syncing phone
data complete." appears momentarily.
IMPORTANT
To enable Bluetooth function on NVE-P1, Bluetooth setting on MMS (IVA-
W203/IVA-W505) must be set to “NAV.”.
Enable SETUP function on MMS by applying security brake sequence.

■ Docking NVE-P1 to MMS (IVA-W203 and IVA-W505)
■ Removing NVE-P1 from MMS (IVA-W203 and IVA-W505)
Press Open button of 2 DIN MMS face and touch
either or Eject on the screen.
Press the eject button on the right side of 2 DIN
MMS inside face.
Remove NVE-P1 from 2DIN MMS.

Press Open button of 2 DIN MMS face and touch Open
on the screen.
Insert NVE-P1 into the unit with Alpine logo facing up
(reset button on the right).
Press firmly into place.
Touch Close on the screen to close 2DIN MMS face.
Select Navigation as a source.

Note: If Bluetooth is OFF, a message asking
Bluetooth to be turned ON will appear on
the screen.
After Bluetooth is ON, if your phone is not
connected, the Bluetooth Discover Mode
message will be displayed.

■ Placing Calls
When your mobile phone is actively paired with NVE-P1, a pop-up
window will appear when you have an incoming call. The caller ID
number will be displayed when available. Touch Answer to accept the
call or Ignore to ignore it.
