Parking brake interlock
Certain functions (Videoviewing and certain
touch panel keys)offered by this unit couldbe
dangerous and/or unlawfulif used while driving.
To preventsuch functions from being usedwhile
the vehicle isin motion, there is aninterlock sys-
tem that senseswhen the parking brake isset. If
you attempt touse the functions described
above while driving,they will become disabled
until you stopthe vehicle in a safeplace, and (1)
apply the parkingbrake, (2) release the parking
brake, and then(3) apply the parking brake
again. Please keepthe brake pedal pushed
down before releasingthe parking brake.
When using a display connected
to rear monitor output
The rear monitoroutput on this unit (VOUT)is
used to connecta rear display that allowspas-
sengers in therear seats to watch videos.
WARNING
NEVER install therear display in a location
where the drivercan watch videos while driving.
When using the rear view camera
With an optionalrear view camera, this unit can
be used asan aid to keep aneye on trailers, or
when backing intoa tight parking spot.

backing up. Donot use for entertainment
purposes.
! Pleasenote thatthe edges of the rear view
camera images maydiffer slightly according
to whether full screen imagesare displayed
when backing up,and whether the images
are used forchecking the rear when the ve-
hicle is movingforward.
To avoid battery exhaustion
Keep the vehicleengine running when using
this unit toavoid draining the battery power.
! Whenno poweris supplied to this unit, such
as when thevehicle battery is beingre-
placed, the microcomputerof this unit re-
turns to itsinitial condition. We recommend
that you transcribethe audio adjustment
data.
