Question About Fujitsu Car Stereo System None
Frozen screen after replacing car battery...

After changing my car's battery: A prompt to "CHECK MAP DISK" appears on the screen and all functions seem to be frozen except for 2 touch screen buttons that read "open/close" and "eject disk". I don't have the map disk or manual at this point.

5 i believe you have to register the head unit under your name if not already done so. for that you have to call them at 310-327-2151 and they should help you out. what happened is it enabled its security program and you have to "unlock" the head unit. they should be able to help you over the phone. no more than 10 min...

1 No, I called them and they said that the security system would ask me for an unlock code. It is asking me for a map disc. Similar problem but different solutions. I need a copy of a map disc to resolve. Thanks though.

0 so you would have to buy the disc again? i still fail to see why you wouldn't be able to use any other function...cd,player, dvd player, radio...etc... i still have the same problem but apparently all i have to do is e-mail them my car registration and copy of d.l. i'm just waiting on their response...GOOD LUCK!!! let me know how it turns out!

0 It freezes all functions just like the security code and is big source of income for them. I priced them at $300-400. Apparently, the disc "reboots" the radio after a power disconnect. It uploads streets for the Nav and sets the bells and whistles as well (I hear the latest version allows you to import pics for your welcome screen). Not that I need all that but this is what I understand is needed.

0 300-400 dollars? that's insane! have you tried ebay? every now and then i'm sure one should pop up! or craigslist?! you should be able to find something cheaper. or why don't you try going to a dealer and see if they let you 'borrow' it. i'm sure there will be a charge but no where near $300. i'm actually looking to upgrade mine to the latest version but i just haven't had time. i'm really interested in the pics idea, the reason being i don't like the welcome screen...well good luck again! keep me posted!
