I was wondering if it is possible to have two amps...

I was wondering if it is possible to have two amps hooked up to one stereo? I have 6 speakers, 4 of wich are normal stereo , and two are sub woofers. Can I work both amps on that stereo, and still have 4 speaker regular , and two subs?
