DN9610 AES50 Repeater
1. Introduction
Welcome!
Thank you for purchasing a Klark Teknik DN9610 AES50 Repeater.
The DN9610 is a premium quality, dual channel Klark Teknik AES50
repeater box. A single DN9610 extends any AES50 connection by up
to a distance of 100 metres, but for greater distances multiple DN9610
devices can be connected together in series (daisy-chained).
This DN9610 is particularly designed for sound reinforcement as an
extension to existing AES50 network connections. A pair of AES50
ports is provided so that current AES50 devices that use redundant ‘X’
and ‘Y’ networks can be catered for within a single box.
The DN9610 has two inputs and outputs that provide bi-directional
transmission of 24 channels of audio at 96kHz or 48 channels of audio
at 48kHz, both at 24-bit plus control data. Each input and ouput is via
a Neutrik EtherCON connector, which has a supporting activity LED.
Note: Although AES50 is a bi-directional audio protocol the “input” and
“output” naming convention has been used to help the user with clock
transmission.
The DN9610 was conceived by Klark Teknik to o er audio
professionals high performance audio equipment, designed to
provide no-compromise sonic quality with a feature set that o ers
all essential facilities and functions. It represents the very best
of British design and engineering combined with contemporary,
e cientmanufacturing methods, and will give you many years of
reliableservice.
So, to obtain the best results with a minimum of e ort, please read
this operator manual and,  nally, enjoy your Klark Teknik DN9610
AES50 Repeater!

3. Getting Started
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully unpack your DN9610 equipment package. Then inspect the
DN9610 unit carefully for any signs of damage that may have occurred
during transit and notify the courier immediately if you discover any.
Check the contents of your DN9610 equipment package. If there
are any parts missing, incorrect or faulty, please contact your local
distributor or Klark Teknik at the address at the front of this manual.
Please retain the original packing in case you should need to return
the equipment to the manufacturer or supplier, or transport or ship
the unit later.
3.2 Installation
DC inlets are provided on the rear panel. The correct mains power
adaptor is supplied with the unit complete with a selection of country
variant plug attachments to suit your local mains power outlet socket
requirements.
3.3 Connecting up
When connecting up, note the following:
AES50 cables can be up to 100 m long and must be Cat5e or
Cat6.
Always connect DN9610 inputs to clock master and DN9610
outputs to clock slave.
Always connect AES50 cables to like numbered input and
output ports. For example, if you are connecting to input port
AES50IN1, connect its output to AES50OUT1.
When daisy-chaining, always connect the output(s) of one
DN9610 to the input(s) of another.
With power on, when you connect an AES50 cable to the unit
(input or output) its local green 'activity' LED will illuminate.
When the connection is active the LED will  ash.
