You cannot position your vehicl e
on themap or the positioning
error islarge.
The quality ofsignals from the GPS
satellites is poor, causing reduced
positioning accuracy. Such aloss of
signal quality mayhappen for the
following reasons:
TheGPS antenna is inan unsuita-
ble location.
Obstacles areblocking signals
from thesatellites.
Theposition of satellites relative to
your vehicle is bad.
Signals fromthe GPS satellites
have beenmodified toreduce accu-
racy. (GPS satellites areoperated by
the USDepartment of Defense, and
the USgovernment reserves the
right todistort positioning data for
military reasons. This maylead to
greater positioning errors.)
Ifa vehicle phone orcellular
phone isused near the GPSanten-
na, GPSreception maybe lost tem-
porarily.
Donot cover the GPSantenna
with spraypaint or vehicle wax, be-
cause this mayblock the reception
of GPSsignals. Snow buildup can
also degrade thesignals.
Check the GPSsignal reception andthe posi-
tion of the GPS antenna ifnecessary, or con-
tinue drivinguntil reception improves. Keep
the antenna clear. (Page 90)
