WATER
AND
MOISTURE

POWER-CORD PR
OTECTION
• Power-supply cords s

routed
to
that
they
are
not
likely
to
be
walked on or pinched by items placed
upon
or
against
them,
paying
particular
attention
to
cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the
point
where
they
exit
from
the appliance.

Always
take
hold
of
the plug
to
unplug
it
from
the
power
outlet
;
do
not
unplug
it
by
pulling
on the cord.
The cord may
be
damaged
if
you
keep
pulling
on
it.
POWER
LINES
-
An
outdoor
antenna should
be
located
away
from
power
lines.
OUTDOOR
ANTENNA
GROUNDING
-
If
an
out
side
antenna is connected
to
the antenna
terminal,
be
sure the
antenna system
is
grounded
so
as
to
provide some protec·
tion
against voltage surges and
built
up
static charges .
Section

of
the
National
Electrical Code,
ANSI/NEPA
No.
70-1978, provides
information
with
respect
to
proper
grounding
of
the mast and supporting
structure,
ground-
ing
of
the lead-in
wire
to
an
antenna discharge
unit,
size
of
grounding conductors,
location
of
antenna-discharge
unit,
connection
to
grounding electrodes, and require-
ments
for
the
grounding
electrode.
