6.2 Setting up in Linux
It is recommended to use a terminal program with a graphic interface such as KPPP. It should be noted that all
modems currently available with a USB interface have been primarily developed for Windows and they may
therefore be dif cult or impossible to use with Linux.
It is signi cantly easier to use serial modems, if necessary also with USB-RS 232 adapter.
Start KPPP. Normally this is in “KDE-Menu” Internet Dial in.
Click “Con gure ...” to open the Con guration
dialog box.
