8. If speaker wireis being fedfrom a holein the wallbehind the
bracket, pullthis speaker wirethrough the holein the bracket
before mountingthe bracket [figure11].
9. Line up thebracket, attached tothe speaker, sothat the
screw headspass through thelarge center holeof the
bracket’skeyhole slot.
10. Let thespeaker and bracketslide straight down,allowing the
screw headto slip behindthe smaller endof the keyhole
slot [figure12].
11. Tuggently on thespeaker to makecertain that thescrews
and bracketare properly alignedand that thewall anchors
are secure.
12. If thebracket is notheld snug againstthe wall bythe screw
heads, removethe speaker fromthe wall, drivethe screws
in alittle further andthen remount thespeaker .

ened to“aim” the speaker,and then hand-tightenedto keep
the speakerangled correctly [figure14].
14. Follow thehookup directions includedwith your receiver.Strip
1/2 inchof insulation fromeach of thetwo conductors ofthe
wire toexpose the baremetal and twisteach of theconduc
tors intoa single unfrayedstrand (so youhave two unfrayed
strands). Notethat one ofthe terminals onthe rear ofeach
speaker isred (+) andthe other isblack (-). Makecertain that
you connectthe wire fromthe red terminalof your amplifier
or receiverto the redterminal on yourspeaker and thewire
from theblack terminal ofyour amplifier orreceiver to the
black terminalon your speaker[figure 16]. Mostwire has
some indicator(such as color-coding, ribbingor writing) on
one ofthe two conductorsto help youmaintain consistency.

MOUNTING
TheAtrium’sbracket allowsit tobemounted eitherhorizontally or
verticallyand aimedto deliverthebest possiblesoundin avariety
ofsituations. Followthesteps belowto safelysecurethe brackets
andspeakers.
Installationof AtriumSeries Loudspeakersrequiresbasic skillsin
usingtools suchas adrilland screwdriver.If youarein doubtthat
youpossess thenecessary skillsortools, consultyourPolk Audio
dealer,or aprofessional installer.
1 .Makesure thematerialon whichyouplan tomount thespeakers
(plaster,drywall, paneling,stone, etc.)cansupport theweight of
thespeakers (Atrium60=approx.11.8LBS- 5.4kgea).
2.Make surethelocations youselect donotconceal
electricalwiring orplumbing.
3.Prior toinstallation,hold thespeaker inthechosen locationto make
sureit safelyclears obstaclessuchas ceiling,adjacentwalls,
corners,beams, lightingfixtures anddoor/windowframes.

1. Assurez-vousque le matériausur lequel vouscomptez installer

supporter lepoids des enceintes(Atrium60 = approx.11,8 lb /
5,4 kgch.).
4. Usingthe keyholeslots inthe bracketasa template,mark the
installationlocation ofthe twokeyhole slotswitha pencil.Y ou
cando thisby removingthe bracketknobson thetop andbottom
ofthe speakerand removingthe bracket,orby leavingthe brac-
ketconnected tothe speaker[figure 9].Orientthe bracketso that
thesmall endsof thekeyhole slotsarefacing “up”according to
thedirection ofinstallation. Reattachthe brackettothe speakers,
ifyou haveremoved it,by reinsertingitinto thebracket gapand
thentightening thebracket knobs.
5.If you are certainthat there isa stud behind thewall surface,
drive #10 screws(not included)through thewall andinto the
stud[figure 10a].
6.If thereis nostud behindthewall atthe chosenlocation,install
#10wall anchors(not supplied)into thewallby followingthe
wall-anchor -manufacturer’s instructions.Always usetwo wall
anchorsand twoscrews perspeaker [figure10b].
7. Drivescrews intostud orwall anchors,leavingscrew heads
protruding1/8" (3mm).
