Winter Storage
If the p laceof business is to be closed during the winter
months, it is important to protect the fr eezer by
following certain precautions, particularly if the
building is subject to freezing c onditions.
On water cooled freez ers, disconnect the water
supply. Relieve pressure on spring in water valve. Use
air pressure on the outlet side to blow out any water
remaining in the condens er. This is extremely
important. Failure to follow this procedure may cause
severe and costly damage to the refrigeration system.
Disconnect the freezer fr om the main power sour ce to
prevent possible electrical damage.
Your local Taylor Distr ibutor can perform this service
for you.
Wrap detachable parts of the freezer (such a s the
beater, blades, the drive shaft, and the freezer door)
and place them in a dry, p rotected place. Rubber trim
parts and gas kets can be protected by wrapping wit h
moisture--pr oof paper. All parts s hould be thoroughly
cleaned of dried mix or lubr ication accumulations
which a ttract mice and other vermin.
