select“ISO9660level1orlevel2(withoutincluding
expansionformat)”asthewritingsoftwareformat.
Normal playback may not be possible if the disc is
recorded on another format.
2.Thefoldernameandlenamecanbedisplayed
asthetitleduringMP3/WMAplaybutthetitle
must be within 31 single byte alphabetical letters
andnumeralsforthefoldernameandlename
(includinganextension).Enteringmorelettersor
numeralsthanspeciedmaycauseanincorrect
display.

Names using the code list characters are the only
lenamesandfoldernamesthatcanbeenteredand
displayed.Usinganyothercharacterwillcausethele
and folder names to be displayed incorrectly.

• Folderstructure

1. The maximum allowable number of folders is 255
(includingrootdirectory);themaximumallowable
numberoflesis1500(max.255perfolder).This
represents the maximum number of tracks that can
be played back.
2. Tracks are played in the order that they were
recordedontoadisc.(Tracksmightnotalwaysbe
playedintheorderdisplayedonthePC).
• Somenoisemayoccurdependingonthetypeof
encoder software used while recording.
• IncaseofatrackrecordedatVBR(variablebitrate),
the display for the play time of the track may be
slightlydifferentfromtheactualplaytime.Also,the
recommendedvalueofVBRrangesfrom32kbpsto
320 kbps.
• Afterdiscselection,theplaymodeisautomatically
engaged.
Playing MP3 folders
Whenselectedforplay,lesandfolders(Folder
Search,FileSearchorFolderSelect)areaccessedin
the order in which they were written to the media.
Asaresult,theorderinwhichtheyareexpectedto
be played may not match the order in which they are
actually played.
YoumaybeabletosettheorderinwhichMP3/
WMAlesaretobeplayedbyassigninglenames
beginningwithplaysequencenumberssuchas“01”
to“99”.
Forexample,amediumwiththefollowingfolder/le
hierarchyissubjecttoFolderSearch,FileSearchor
FolderSelect.

Theplayerwillonlyrecognizethreefolderlevelsand
does not display folders containing other folders. In
the example above, the unit will display folders 2,3, 5
and 7, but 1 and 6 since they do not contain others.
