Safety Test Requirements
All units that arereturned for service or repair mustpass the
original manufactures safety tests.Safety testing requires both
Hipot and Ground Continuitytesting.
HI-POT TEST INSTRUCTION
1.Application requirements
1.1 All mains operatedproducts must pass the Hi-Pot testas
described in this instruction.
1.2 This test mustbe performed again after the covershave
been refitted following therepair , inspection ormodification
of the product.
2. Test method
2.1 Connecting conditions
2.1.1 Thetest specified must be appliedbetween the parallel-
blade plug of themainscord and all accessible metal
parts of the product.
2.1.2 Before carrying out thetest, reliable conductive
connections must be ensuredand thereafter be
maintained throughout the testperiod.
2.1.3 Themains switch(es) must be inthe "ON" position.
2.2 Test Requirements
All products should beHiPot and Ground Continuity tested as
follows:
2.2.1 Theminimum test duration for QualityControl Inspector
must be 1 minute.
2.2.2 Thetest voltage must be maintainedwithin the specified
voltage + 5%.
2.2.3 There must be nobreakdown during the test.
2.2.4 The grounding blade orpin of mains plug must be
conducted with accessible metalparts.

Hipot and Ground Continuitytesting records have to be kept
for a period of10 years.
* Turn on the power switch of monito r before Hipot and
G round C ontinuity testing.
