Auto Preset Caution
Any existing presets will be deleted when the Auto
Preset function is run.

Press the [TUNER] button to change the
input source to FM.
Adjust the position of the FM antenna so that the
FM reception is the best (see page 14).

Press the [MENU] button, use the [ ]/[ ]
buttons to select “AutoPreset?”, then
press the [ENTER] button.

Press the [ENTER] button again.
The Auto Preset function is activated.
Up to 40 stations can be preset and presets are
stored in frequency order.
If you want to cancel the Auto Preset process,
press the [ ] button.
Note:
Depending on your location, a preset may be stored
with no station, and you’ll hear only noise when you
select it. Delete unnecessary preset channels (see
page 29).
Tuning into weak stereo FM stations
If the signal from a stereo FM station is weak, it may be
impossible to get good reception. In this case, press the
[MODE] button to switch to Mono mode and listen to
the station in mono.
To revert to Auto mode, press the [MODE] button
again.
In general, for stereo reception, set to Auto mode.
You must store some presets before you can select them
(see pages 27, 28).

Press the [TUNER] button to change the
input source to “FM” or “DAB”.
The preset you selected the last time you listened
to the radio will be selected.

Use the [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a
preset.
Tip:
If you press the remote controller’s [TUNER] button
while the CD receiver is in standby mode, the power
to the CD receiver will be turned on automatically,
and the station that you listened to last will be tuned
in.
The RDS information will be displayed when the unit is
tuned to an FM station that supports RDS.
The RDS indicator appears on the display when the unit
is tuned to an FM station that supports RDS.
Press the [DISPLAY] button repeatedly to
display the following RDS information.
What is RDS?
RDS stands for Radio Data System and is a method of
transmitting data in FM radio signals. It was developed
within the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and
many European FM radio stations use it these days.
The unit supports and displays Program Service Name
(PS) and Radio Text (RT) RDS data.
