Operations using special buttons
Pausing playback
1 Press 4/PAUSE topause or resume.
Enhancing compressedaudio and restoringrich
sound (soundretriever)
1 Press 3/S.Rtrvto cycle between:
12OFF (off)
1 iseffective for lowcompression rates, and 2
is effectivefor high compressionrates.
Function settings
1 Press M.C. to display the main menu.
2 Turn M.C. to change the menu option
and press to select FUNCTION.
3 Turn M.C. to select the function.
Once selected, the following functions can be
adjusted.
BOOKMARK (bookmark)
1 Press M.C. tostore track information.
S.RTRV(sound retriever)
Automatically enhancescompressed audio and
restores richsound.
1 Press M.C. toselect the desiredsetting.

on thispage.
Audio adjustments
1 Press M.C. to display the main menu.
2 Turn M.C. to change the menu option
and press to select AUDIO.
3 Turn M.C. to select the audio function.
Once selected, the following audio functions
can be adjusted.
! FADERis not availablewhen SUB.W/SUB.W
is selectedin SP-P/O MODE. Fordetails, refer
to SP-P/OMODE (rear output andpreout set-
ting) onpage 12.
! SUB.W,SUB.W CTRL andHPF SETTING are
not availablewhen REAR/REAR isselected in
SP-P/O MODE. Fordetails, refer to
SP-P/O MODE(rear output and preout set-
ting) onpage 12.
! SUB.W CTRLand HPF SETTINGare not avail-
able whenSUB.W is selectedin OFF. For de-
tails, referto SUB.W (subwoofer on/off
setting) onthis page.
FADER(fader adjustment)
1 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
2 TurnM.C. to adjustthe front/rear speaker bal-
ance.
BALANCE (balanceadjustment)
1 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
2 TurnM.C. to adjustthe left/right speaker bal-
ance.
EQ SETTING(equalizer recall)
1 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
2 TurnM.C. to selectthe equalizer.

The equalizerband and equalizer levelcan be
customized whenCUSTOM1 or CUSTOM2is
selected.
If selectingCUSTOM1 or CUSTOM2,complete
the proceduresoutlined below. If selecting
other options,press M.C. to returnto the pre-
vious display.
! CUSTOM1 canbe set separatelyfor each
source. However,USB, iPod andPAN-
DORA areall set to thesame setting auto-
matically.
! CUSTOM2 isa shared settingused in com-
mon forall sources.
3 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
4 Press M.C. tocycle between thefollowing:
Equalizer bandEqualizerlevel
5 TurnM.C. to selectthe desired setting.
Equalizer band:80HZ250HZ800HZ
2.5KHZ8KHZ
Equalizer level:+6 to 6
LOUDNESS (loudness)
Loudness compensatesfor deficiencies inthe low-
frequency andhigh-frequency ranges at lowvol-
ume.
1 Press M.C. toselect the desiredsetting.
OFF (off)LOW(low)MID (mid)HI (high)
SUB.W (subwooferon/off setting)
This unitis equipped witha subwoofer output
which canbe turned on oroff.
1 Press M.C. toselect the desiredsetting.
NOR (normalphase)REV (reverse phase)
OFF (subwooferoff)
SUB.W CTRL(subwoofer adjustment)
Only frequencieslower than thosein the selected
range areoutputted from thesubwoofer.
1 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
2 Press M.C. tocycle between thefollowing:

BASS BOOST(bass boost)
1 Press M.C. todisplay the settingmode.
2 TurnM.C. to selecta desired level.
0 to+6 is displayed asthe level isincreased or
decreased.
HPF SETTING(high pass filteradjustment)
When youdo not want lowsounds from thesub-
woofer outputfrequency range toplay from the
front orrear speakers, turn onthe HPF (highpass
filter). Onlyfrequencies higher than thosein the
selected rangeare output fromthe front or rear
speakers.

2 Press M.C. tocycle between thefollowing:
