Preparation for Use
H Parental lock
I To control over what your children watch on your DVD player, some DVD
discs feature a Parental Lock level.
I If your player is set to a lower level than the disc, the disc would not play.
I The player does not play certain scenes on some discs that support the
Country/Area Code feature, depending on the Country/Area Code you set.
I Not all discs use Parental Lock and will play without requiring the password
first.
I If you forget your password, you will need to reset the player to register a
new password. (See “Clearing all the memory (reset)” on page 49).
H Password setting
You must register a password before you can change the Parental Lock level
or enter a Country code.
1 Whilst in the stop mode, press HOME MENU then select
“Initial Settings” and press ENTER button.
2 Initial Settings menu will appear.
Select “Options”, “Parental Lock”
then “Password” by each time
press ENTER button.
3 Use the Direct Number buttons to enter a 4-digits
password.
I The numbers you enter show up
as asterisks (*) on screen.
4 Press ENTER button to register the password.
I You will return to the “Initial Settings” menu screen.
H Setting/changing the parental lock
1 Repeat steps 1 and 2 in “Password setting” but this
time select “Level Change”.
2 Use the Direct Number buttons to enter your password,
then press ENTER button.
3 Select a new level by pressing 2 or 3 button then press
ENTER button.
I Press 2 button repeatedly to lock more levels (more discs will
require the password).
I Press 3 to unlock levels. You cannot
lock level 1.
I This sets the new level and you will
return to the “Initial Settings” menu
screen.

H Changing your password
To change your password, confirm your existing password then enter a new
one.
1 Repeat steps 1 and 2 in “Password setting” but this time
select “Password Change”.
2 Use the Direct Number buttons to
enter your existing password,
then press ENTER button.
Enter a new password and press
ENTER button.
I This registers the new password
and you will return to the “Initial Settings” menu screen.
