Warning messages
If messages appear on the screen, check the following. See the page in parentheses
“( )” for details.
• CLOCK SET Set the date and time (p. 31).
• FOR ”InfoLITHIUM” Use an “InfoLITHIUM” battery pack (p. 273).
BATTERY ONLY
• CLEANING CASSETTE The video heads are dirty (p. 280).
The x indicator and “ CLEANING CASSETTE“ message appear
one after another on the screen.
• COPY INHIBIT You tried to record a picture that has a copyright control signal
(p. 270).*
• FULL The Cassette Memory is full.*
• 16BIT AUDIO MODE is set to 16BIT. You cannot dub new sound
(p. 231).*
• REC MODE REC MODE is set to LP.* You cannot dub new sound (p. 231).
You cannot dub new sound on the tape recorded in a TV colour
system other than that of your camcorder.
• TAPE There is no recorded portion on the tape.* You cannot dub new
sound.
• ”i.LINK” CABLE The i.LINK cable is connected. You cannot dub new sound
(p. 119).*
• FULL The “Memory Stick” is full (p. 145).*

• MEMORY STICK ERROR The “Memory Stick” data is corrupted (p. 137).*
• FORMAT ERROR The “Memory Stick” is not recognised (p. 229).*
Check the format.
• PLAY ERROR The image is distorted and cannot be played back.*
Reinsert the “Memory Stick.”
• REC ERROR Turn the POWER switch on again.*
• INCOMPATIBLE The “Memory Stick” inserted is not compatible
MEMORY STICK with your camcorder.*
• READ-ONLY MEMORY STICK A read-only “Memory Stick” is inserted.*
• Q Z TAPE END The tape has reached the end of the tape.*
• Q NO TAPE Insert a cassette.*
