Clearing a media jam
If the printer has frequent media jams, make sure that you follow these guidelines:
■ Always use high-quality laser paper, recommended labels, and Tektronix
transparencies, glossy paper, and fabric transfer media.
■ Make sure that you load specialty media only in the Multi-Purpose Tray
and that you set the Media Thickness Switch to the correct setting for the
media used.
■ To prevent jams, clean the printer’s rollers. See “Occasional cleaning” on
page 107 for details.
If a media jam occurs, the front panel reports Jam at <Location> on the display’s
first line. The <Locations> are the various sensors throughout the paper path,
listed as

through
E
. The second line of the display directs you to the location; for
example, Open left side door. Inside the printer’s front door is a label showing
the location for each jam.
