Troubleshooting
Diagnostic tools
The printer provides several tools for diagnosing and solving various types of
problems; these tools include the following:
Consumables Page
Found in the front panel’s Help Pages menu. Included is
status for each Toner Cartridge (OK or LOW) and the
% Remaining gauges, showing the approximate remaining
life for the Imaging Unit, Fuser, Fuser Roll, Transfer Kit, and
Main Charge Grid.
Service Print 1
Found in the Help Pages menu;
five separate pages help you
diagnose print quality problems
(for example, if a
user-replaceable component
needs to be replaced).
Configuration Page
Found in the Help Pages menu; provides useful
information for installation and troubleshooting:
■ Printer’s name and Internet address
■ Firmware version
■ Feature set (one of three printer configurations:
Standard, Plus, or Extended)
■ Printer serial number
■ Network information
■ Printer feature status (for example, Check Print enabled)
