Pilot burner ﬂame (Figure 16)

PROPER pilot ﬂame characteristics

1. Blueame.

2. Inner cone engulﬁng pilot ﬂame sensor.

3. Pilot ﬂame sensor glowing cherry red.

IMPROPER pilot ﬂame characteristics:

1. Overﬁred — Large ﬂame lifting or blowing past pilot ﬂame sensor.

2. Underred—Smallame.Innerconenotengulngpilotamesen-

sor.

3. Lackofprimaryair—Yellowametip.

4. Incorrectly heated pilot ﬂame sensor.

If you discover evidence of any gas leak, shut down the

boiler at once. Find the leak source with bubble test and

repairimmediately.Donotstartboileragainuntilcor-

rected. Failure to comply could result in severe personal

injury, death or substantial property damage.
