specify the playback point.

scrubber bar is grayout.
Built-in DVD player basic
operations
Playing a disc
% Insert a DVD (-R/-RW), CD (-R/-RW) into
the disc loading slot.
Playback will automatically start.
# Be sure toturn up the label sideof a DVD
(-R/-RW), CD (-R/-RW).
# After a DVD (-R/-RW), CD (-R/-RW) has been
inserted, use touch panelkeys to select the DVD
player.
# When a DVD (-R/-RW),CD (-R/-RW) is loaded
in this unit, touchthe source icon and then touch
Disc to select Disc.
# If you are playing aDVD or Video CD, a menu
may appear. Refer to Operatingthe DVD menu on
page 22 and PBCplayback on page 27.
# When the automatic playbackfunction is on,
this unit will cancelthe DVD menu and automati-
cally start playbackfrom the first chapter of the
first title. Referto Automatic playback ofDVDs on
page 25.
# To eject a DVD (-R/-RW), CD(-R/-RW), press h
(eject).
Notes
! The DVD player playsone, standard, 12-cm
DVD (-R/-RW), CD (-R/-RW) at a time. Playing
back an 8-cm discis not possible with this
unit.
! Do not insert anythingother than a DVD (-R/-
RW), CD (-R/-RW) intothe disc loading slot.
! If bookmark functionis on, DVD playback re-
sumes from the selectedpoint. For morede-
tails, refer to Resume playback (Bookmark) on
page 23.
! If a DVD(-R/-RW), CD (-R/-RW)contains a mix-
ture of various mediafile types such as DivX
and MP3, you canswitch between media file
types to play. Referto Switching the media file
type on the nextpage.
! If you cannot insert adisc completely or if
after youinsert a disc the disc doesnot play,
check that the labelside of the disc is up.
Press h to eject the disc,and check the disc
for damage beforeinserting it again.
! There is sometimesa delay between starting
up disc playbackand the sound being issued.
When being read, FormatRead is displayed.
! If an error messageis displayed, refer to Error
messages on page 90.
