Troubleshooting
Symptoms are written in bold and causes in reg-
ular, non-indented text. Regular, indented text is
used to indicate actions to be taken.
The display automaticallyreturns to the ordinary
display.
You did not perform anyoperation within about 30
seconds.
Perform operation again.
The repeat playrange changes unexpectedly.
Depending on therepeat play range, theselected
range may changewhen another folder or trackis
being selected orduring fast forwarding/reversing.
Select the repeatplay range again.
A subfolder isnot played back.
Subfolders cannot beplayed when FLD (folderre-
peat) is selected.
Select another repeatplay range.
NO XXXX appearswhen a display ischanged
(NO TITLE, forexample).
There is noembedded text information.
Switch the displayor play another track/file.
The unit ismalfunctioning.
There is interference.
You are using adevice, such as acellular phone,
that may causeaudible interference.
Move electrical devicesthat may be causingthe
interference away from theunit.

AMP ERROR
This unit failsto operate or thespeaker connection is
incorrect; the protectivecircuit is activated.
Check the speakerconnection. If the message
fails to disappeareven after the engineis
switched off/on, contactyour dealer or an
authorized Pioneer Service Station for
assistance.
CD player
ERROR-07, 11, 12,17, 30
The disc isdirty.
Clean the disc.
The disc isscratched.
Replace the disc.
ERROR-07, 10, 11,12, 15, 17, 30,A0
There is anelectrical or mechanical error.
Turn the ignitionswitch OFFand back ON, or
switch to adifferent source, then backto the CD
player.
ERROR-15
The inserted discis blank.
Replace the disc.
ERROR-23
Unsupported CD format.
Replace the disc.
FORMAT READ
Sometimes there isa delay between thestart of play-
back and whenyou start to hearany sound.
Wait until the messagedisappears and you hear

NO AUDIO

USB storage device/iPod

and connect.

PROTECT
All the fileson the connected USBstorage device
are embedded withDRM.
Replace the USBstorage device.

The connected USBdevice is not supportedby this
unit.
! Connect aUSB Mass Storage Classcompliant
device.
! Disconnect yourdevice and replace itwith a
compatible USB storagedevice.
CHECK USB
The USB connectoror USB cable hasshort-
circuited.
Check that theUSB connector or USBcable is
not caught insomething or damaged.
CHECK USB
The connected USBstorage device consumes more
than maximum allowablecurrent.
Disconnect the USBstorage device and donot
use it. Turnthe ignition switch toOFF, thento
ACC or ONand then connect onlycompliant
USB storage devices.
CHECK USB
The iPod operates correctlybut does not charge.
Make sure theconnection cable for theiPod has
not shorted out(e.g., not caughtin metal
objects). After checking,turn the ignition switch
OFFand back ON, ordisconnect the iPod and
reconnect.
ERROR-19
Communication failed.
Perform one of thefollowing operations.
Turn the ignitionswitch OFFand back ON.
Disconnect the USBstorage device.
Change to adifferent source.
Then, return tothe USB source.
