they form atight seal. When
cookingwithcontainers tightly
covered with plastic wrap,
removecovering carefully
and direct steam away
from hands andface.
■ Use foil onlyas directed in
this guide. TVdinners may be
microwaved in foil trays less
than 3/4″ high; remove thetop
foil cover andreturn thetray to
the box.Whenusing foil in the
microwaveoven, keepthefoil
atleast 1″awayfromthe sides
ofthe oven.
■ Plastic cookware—Plastic
cookware designedfor
microwavecooking is very
useful but should beused
carefully. Even microwave-safe
plasticmay notbe as tolerant
ofovercooking conditions as
areglass or ceramic materials
and may soften orchar if
subjected to shortperiods
ofovercooking.In longer
exposures to overcooking,
the foodand cookware
couldignite.
Follow these guidelines:
Use microwave-safe
plastics onlyand use
them in strict compliance
with thecookware
manufacturer’s
recommendations.
Donot microwave empty
containers.
Donot permitchildren
touse plastic cookware
withoutcomplete
supervision.
