Microwave Temperature Cooking
&w
Temperature cooking uses
a special food thermometer to
measure the internal temperature
of food as it cooks. For many
foods this is the best test of
doneness. Heating or reheating
foods accurately to the desired
serving temperature is easy.
Temperature cooking takes the
guesswork out of cooking because
the oven automatically switches to

Questions and Answers
Q. Are there any foods I can’t
temperature cook?
A. Yes.
Delicate butter icings, ice
cream, frozen whipped toppings,
etc., soften rapidly at warm
temperatures. Batters and doughs
as well are difficult to cook
precisely with the probe. It is best
to time cook these foods. Do not
use for frozen foods because probe
could be damaged.
Q.
Can I
leave
the probe in the
oven if it’s not inserted in the
food?
A. No.
If the probe is touching the
oven wall, and is not inserted into
food, you may damage the oven.
