- check that the port number and IP address used by the PPR
(idaPSS, ida ReRouter, AS/400, PSF/2, PSF/AIX) are the same as
those defined on the Xerox 4500 PS TR .
IPDS applications must use port nos. 5001 and 5002
ICDS applications must use port nos. 5005 and 5006
• Non-AFP printing using TCP/IP
- check that the IP address used by the host is that defined in the
Xerox 4500 PS TR non-IPDS
PSF indicated communication errors
• Ensure that a PCL printer is attached and powered on.
Message AIN1048E or 0420-049
PSF cannot link to the printer address.
• Check that port number matches that set up for the ‘Xerox 4500 PS
TR.
• Check that your network is operat ional (e.g. by using the PING
command).
• Check that the printer session you are accessing is not already
assigned to another host such as PSF/2, PSF/AIX, PSF for S/370-
S/390 or PSF/400.
LAN, LEDs is lit, PRT flashes, but no print is produced
• Check that the printer is online.
• Check that a printer intervention is not pending.

• Check that the printer is online.
