Zone 2 (Z2) description and operation
As briefly stated throughout this manual, the second zone (zone 2 or Z2) is for audio
only listening. The setup procedure, surround modes, and digital inputs are for zone 1
(Z1) only and have no effect on zone 2 (Z2). There are 2 sets of stereo outputs for zone
2.
You will need more amplifiers and speakers to use zone 2. You can add stereo
speakers in other rooms of your house or even outside (if you have outdoor speakers).
The headphone jack is controlled by zone 2's selector and volume control. Use zone 2
for headphone listening
In order to use zone 2, you must connect the analog cables from your sources to the
preamplifier. You can connect the digital and analog cables for the same source to the
preamplifier. Making your connections in this manner will allow you to use the digital for
zone 1 and analog for zone 2.
Zone 2 volume can be controlled in different ways as follows:
1.
Use the zone 2 remote (small green remote) supplied with your
preamplifier.
2.
Only turn zone 2 on, the master volume control on the faceplate of the
preamplifier will control zone 2 volume.
3.
Press the menu button on the faceplate of the preamplifier until
ZONE 2
VOLUME
is displayed, press
ENTER
, now the volume control on the
faceplate of the preamplifier will temporary operate Z2 volume.
