With RDS stations, the name of the
broadcasting station and program category
information are transmitted and can be
displayed on the unit’s display. It is also
possible to select only those RDS stations that
are broadcasting the genre selected by using
the PTY function.
The name of the genre of the RDS
station currently being received is
displayed, and the [PTY] indicator
lights on the display. If the PTY signal
cannot be received, “NOPTY” is
displayed.
Setting PTY SEEK
Repeatedly pressing the [FUNC]
button will cycle you through the
following options.
NEWS ➔ SPORTS ➔ TALK ➔ POP ➔
CLASSICS ➔ NEWSwww
ATTENTION
• When PTY31 is received,
[ALARM] is displayed and the unit
receives emergency broadcasting.
• While receiving the emergency
broadcasting, you can adjust the
volume and the changed volume is
stored.
The SEEK function will start within
the selected genre.
During the search for RDS stations
conducted by the SEEK function, the
[PTY] indicator is displayed on the
display.
If an RDS station within the selected
genre cannot be found, [NOTHING]
will be displayed for two seconds,
and then the genre name for which
the search was conducted will be
displayed for four seconds.
