Operations using special buttons
Selecting a repeatplay range
1 Press 6/
to cycle betweenthe following:
! ONE Repeatthe current song
! ALL Repeatall songs in theselected list
! When the controlmode is set toCONTROL
iPod, therepeat play range willbe same as
what is setfor the connected iPod.
Selecting a randomplay range (shuffle)
1 Press 5/
to cycle betweenthe following:
! SNG Playback songs in theselected list
in random order.
! ALB Play back songs froma randomly se-
lected album inorder.
! OFF Notplay back in randomorder.
Playing all songsin random order (shuffleall)
1 Press and hold5/
to turn shuffleall on.
! To turnoff shuffle all, select OFFin shuffle. For
details, refer toSelecting a random playrange
(shuffle) on page8.
Pausing playback
1 Press 4/PAUSE to pauseor resume.
Enhancing compressed audioand restoring rich
sound (sound retriever)
1 Press 3/S.Rtrv tocycle between:
12OFF (off)
1 is effectivefor low compression rates,and 2
is effective forhigh compression rates.
Playing songs related to the
currently playing song
You can play songs from the following lists.
Album list of the currently playing artist
Song list of the currently playing album
Album list of the currently playing genre
1 Press and hold
to switch to link play
mode.
2 Turn M.C. to change the mode; press to
select.
! ARTIST Playsan album by theartist cur-
rently playing.
! ALBUM Playsa song from thealbum cur-
rently being played.
! GENRE Playsan album from thegenre cur-
rently being played.
The selected song/album will be played after the
currently playing song.
Notes
! The selected song/album may be canceled if
you use functions other than link search (e.g.
fast forward and reverse).
! Depending on the song selected to play, the
end of the currently playing song and the be-
ginning of the selected song/album may be
cut off.
Using this units iPod function
from your iPod
This units iPod function can be controlled by
using the connected iPod.
CONTROL iPod is not compatible with the fol-
lowing iPod models.
! iPod nano 1st generation
! iPod with video
% Press BAND/
to switch the control
mode.
! CONTROL iPod This units iPod function
can be operatedfrom the connected iPod.
! CONTROL AUDIO This units iPod function
can be controlledby using this unit.
Notes
! Switching the control mode to
CONTROL iPod pauses song playback. Use
the iPod to resume playback.
! The following operations are still accessible
from the unit even if the control mode is set
to CONTROL iPod.

! The volume can only be adjusted from this
unit.
Function settings
1 Press M.C. to display the main menu.
2 Turn M.C. to change the menu option
and press to select FUNCTION.
3 Turn M.C. to select the function.
Once selected, the following functions can be
adjusted.
! AUDIO BOOK isnot available when
CONTROL iPod isselected in the control
mode. For details, refer toUsing this units
iPod function from youriPod on page8.
AUDIO BOOK (audiobookspeed)
1 Press M.C. todisplay the setting mode.
2 Turn M.C.to select your favorite setting.
! FASTER Playback at a speedfaster than
normal
! NORMAL Playbackat normal speed
! SLOWER Playbackat a speed slower
than normal
S.RTRV (soundretriever)
1 Press M.C. toselect the desired setting.

cation to thelatest version before use.
! The latest versionof the Pandora application can
be downloaded oniTunes App Store.
! Create a freeor a paid accountonline. You can
create the accountin the Pandora application
from your iPhoneor on the website.The URL in

! If the Data Planfor your iPhone does notprovide
for unlimited datausage, additional charges
from your carriermay apply for accessingthe
Pandora service via 3G and/orEDGE networks.
! You need to connectto the Internet via3G, EDGE
or Wi-Finetwork to use theservice from Pandora.
Limitations:
! Depending on theavailability to the Internet,you
may not beable to receive Pandora service.
! Pandora service is subject tochange without no-
tice. The service couldbe affected by anyof the
following: firmware versionsof iPhone, firmware
versions of Pandora application, changes tothe
Pandora music service.
! Certain functions of thePandora service arenot
available when accessingthe service through the
Pioneer caraudio/video products. They include,
but not limitedto the following: creatingnew sta-
tions, deleting stations,sending information
about current stations,buying tracks from
iTunes, viewingadditional text information, log-
ging in toPandora, adjusting Cell NetworkAudio
Quality.

filiated with Pioneer. More information is avail-

Starting procedure for iPhone users
1 Connect an iPhone to USB input.
