Frame-by-frame playback
This letsyou move ahead oneframe at atime during
playback.
! Thisfunction isavailable for DVD, DivXdisc and
Video CD.
1 Pressr during playback.
Each timeyou press r,you move aheadone
frame.
To returnto normal playback,press f.
Images during frame-by-frameplayback may be
unclear for some discs.
Slow motion playback
This letsyou slow down playbackspeed.
! Thisfunction isavailable for DVD, DivXdisc and
Video CD.
1 Pressr and hold duringplayback.
The icon
is displayed, forward slowmotion
playback begins.
2 Pressq or rto adjust playbackspeed during
slow motion playback.
Each timeyou press q orr it changesthe
speed infour steps in thefollowing order:
1/161/81/41/2
To returnto normal playback,press f.
You cannot operatethis step during DivXdisc
playback.
Notes
! There is no sound during slow motion play-
back.
! Images during slow motion playback may be
unclear for some discs.
! Reverse slow motion playback is not available.
Return to the specified scene
You can returnto the specified scenewhere the DVD
you arecurrently playinghas been preprogrammed
to return.
! Thisfunction isavailable for DVD video.
1 PressRETURN toreturn to thespecified scene.
This function cannotbe used ifa specified scene
has notbeen preprogrammedon the DVDdisc.
Automatic playback of DVDs
When aDVD disc with aDVD menu isinserted, this
unit willcancel themenu automatically and start
playback from thefirst chapter ofthe first title.
! Thisfunction isavailable for DVD video.
! SomeDVDs maynot operate properly. Ifthis func-
tion isnot fully operated, turnthis function off
and startplayback.
1 PressAUTO PLAYto turn automaticplayback on.
APLAY:ONis displayed.
To turnautomatic playback off, press AUTOPLAY
again.

Notes
! Incompatible text stored with the audio file
may not be displayed or may be displayed in-
correctly.
! Depending on the version of iTunes used to
write MP3 files onto a disc, comment informa-
tion may be incorrectly displayed.
! When playing back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
corded WMA files, the average bit rate value is
displayed.
! When playing back VBR (variable bit rate)-re-
corded MP3 files, VBR is displayed instead of
bit rate value.
! When Ever Scroll is set to ON at the initial set-
ting, text information scrolls continuously in
the display. Refer to SCROLL (ever scroll) on
page 26.
