Introduction of DVD setup
adjustments
You can usethis menu tochange audio, subtitle,par-
ental lockand other DVD settings.
! To perform this function,set the remotecontrol to
DVD mode.
1 Select DVDas the source andthen press g.
2 PressMENU when the discis stopped.
The DVDsetup menu is displayed.
3 Move thethumb pad left orright to switchthe
DVD setup menucategories.
LANG. (language)—PICT.(picture) —GEN. (gener-
al)
4 Move thethumb pad up ordown to selectthe
DVD setup functionnames.
For LANG.:SUBTITLE LANG. (subtitle language
settings)—AUDIO LANG. (audiolangu age set-
tings)—MENU LANG. (menulanguage settings)
—OSD LANGUAGE (onscreen display language
setting)—CHARACTER SET (characterset set-
ting)
For PICT.: ANGLE ICON DISPLAY(angle icon)—
TVASPECT (TVaspect)—SLIDESHOW TIME(sli-
deshow interval time setting)
For GEN.:PARENTAL (parental lock)—DivXSUB-
TITLE (DivXsubtitle)—IEC DIGITAL OUTPUT(di-
gital output setting)—DivX VOD(DivX VOD)—
SAMPLING OUTPUT (downsampling output set-
ting)
If you pressMENU during displayof a DVD setup
menu, theDVD setup menu iscanceled and the
unit returns tothe previous display.

1 PressRETURN.
Setting the subtitle language
You can seta desired subtitle language.When avail-
able, thesubtitles willbe displayed inthe selected
language.
1 Move thethumb pad up ordown to selectSUBTI-
TLE LANG. inLANG.
2 Click thethumb pad
A subtitlelanguage menuis displayed.
3 Move thethumb pad up, down,left or rightto se-
lect thedesired language.
4 Click thethumb pad.
The subtitlelanguage isset.
Notes
! If the selected language is not available, the
language specified on the disc is displayed.
! You can also switch the subtitle language by
pressing SUBTITLE during playback. (Refer to
Changing the subtitle language during play-
back (Multi-subtitle) on page 16.)
! The setting made here will not be affected
even if the subtitle language is switched dur-
ing playback using SUBTITLE.
When you select OTHERS
A languagecode input display isshown when
OTHERS isselected. Referto Language codechart for
DVD onpage 38.
1 PressingCLEAR cancels the inputnumbers.
Setting the audio language
1 Move thethumb pad up ordown to selectAUDIO
LANG. in LANG.
2 Click thethumb pad
An audiolanguage menu is displayed.
3 Move thethumb pad up, down,left or rightto se-
lect thedesired audiolanguage.
4 Click thethumb pad.
The audio languageis set.
