Satellite M100 Features
Utilities and Applications
This section describes preinstalled utilities and tells how to start them. For
details on operations, refer to each utility’s online manual, help files or
readme.txt files.
TOSHIBA Assist TOSHIBA Assist is a graphical user interface that
provides easy access to help and services.
DVD Video Player The DVD player is used to play DVD Video media
through an on-screen interface and functions.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to
InterVideo WinDVD then click InterVideo WinDVD.
TOSHIBA ConfigFree ConfigFree is a suite of utilities to allow easy
control of communication devices and network
connections. ConfigFree also allows you to find
communication problems and create profiles for
easy switching between location and
communication networks.
To start ConfigFree, click the Start Button, point
to All Programs, point to TOSHIBA, point to
Networking and click ConfigFree.
TOSHIBA Disc
Creator
You can create discs in several formats including
audio CDs that can be played on a standard
stereo CD player and data discs to store the files
and folders on your hard disk drive. This software
can be used on a model with a CD-RW/DVD-ROM
drive or a DVD Super Multi drive.
TOSHIBA DVD-RAM
Utility
TOSHIBA DVD-RAM Utility has the function of
Physical Format and Write-Protect to DVD-RAM.
This utility is contained the setup module of
TOSHIBA Disc Creator. You can boot TOSHIBA
DVD-RAM Utility from the menu bar as follows.
Start -> All Programs -> TOSHIBA -> CD&DVD
Applications -> DVD-RAM Utility.
TOSHIBA Hardware
Setup
This program lets you customize your hardware
settings according to the way you work with your
computer and the peripherals you use. To access
this utility, click Start, click Control Panel, click
Printers and Other Hardware and select the
TOSHIBA HW Setup icon.
CD/DVD Drive
Acoustic Silencer
This utility allows you to configure the read speed
of CD drive. You can either configure Normal
Mode, which operates the drive at its maximum
speed for quick data access, or Quiet Mode,
whcih runs at single speed for CD audio and
which can lessen operational noise. It is
ineffective in DVD.
