Playing recordings using the
device
You can listen to the recording by selecting
its corresponding fi le name in the “DAB_
DIR” directory on the SD/MMC. For further
details on this, please read the sections en-
titled “Selecting a directory” and “Selecting
tracks” at the start of the chapter. If you
switch to SD/MMC mode after making a
recording, the device will start playing the
track that was recorded fi rst.
To select the track that was recorded
last, press the
button 6 as soon as
playback begins.
Playing recordings on other devices
You can also play the recordings on your PC.
To do so, you need an SD/MMC card reader
and a player software application. You can
also listen to recordings on players that are
capable of reading SDs/MMCs.
Notes:
Even though the fi le is not an MP3
fi le, it is still given the “mp3” fi le ex-
tension. Since all standard player
software applications support Layer
2 fi les, you can play them on a compu-
ter. If you experience problems when
playing the fi les on another device,
please check that the player is com-
patible with Layer 2.
The Nashville DAB47 uses special al-
gorithms for playing DAB programmes
in order to ensure an optimum listen-
ing experience even if you are playing
material that was recorded during
poor reception. PC programmes do
not use special signal processing,
u
which means that fi les might sound
different when listened to on a com-
puter, e.g. errors are not suppressed
and distortion might be heard.
Deleting recordings
You can delete individual fi les that are
stored on an SD/MMC.
Listen to the fi le that you want to delete
from the SD/MMC.
Press the REC•DEL button 9.
For two seconds, the display shows
“DELETE ? YES = REC•DEL”.
Press the REC•DEL button 9 during
these two seconds.
Repeat this procedure with all the
tracks that you want to delete.
Formatting SDs/MMCs
You can format an SD/MMC in the device.
All the data that are stored on it are deleted
in the process.
Note:
You should format the SD/MMC in the
device to ensure card compatibility
with the device.
You can only format the card whilst the de-
vice is set to AUX, CD/MP3 or FM mode.
Switch to FM radio mode. For further
details on this, please read the “Radio
mode” chapter.
Press the MENU•OK button 7.
Press the
button 6 repeatedly until
“VARIOUS MENU” appears on the dis-
play.
Press the MENU•OK 7, to display the
menu.
