How to operate the tuner with an optional XM satellite
radio tuner connected (U.S.A./CANADA only)
About XM satellite radio
If the optional XM satellite radio tuner unit is
connected, satellite radio broadcast can be
received.
With XM satellite radio, over 170 channels are
available including music, sports, news, and
entertainment programs.
The channel can be selected from categories
such as ROCK and DANCE, or by selecting
individual channel manually.
Reception of XM satellite radio is fee based; you
have to subscribe to it.
It is possible to subscribe through the XM radio
website.

For information about the operation and set-up
of the XM satellite radio tuner unit, see the XM
satellite radio unit's owner's manual.
The main unit will accept up to 24 stations in
memory.
Selecting the radio mode
For details, refer to "Switching Audio
Modes" on page 15.
Selecting a channel
Radio bands will switch from XM1
XM2 XM3 XM4 in order each time
the button is pressed.
Right: Selects the higher channel.
Left: Selects the lower channel.
Reception is enabled for all channels
within the currently selected category.
(Refer to page 51 for details on
"Category selection".)
Right: Starts searching toward higher
channels.
Left: Starts searching toward lower
channels.
Operations during rotary mode
Turn to the right: Tunes to higher
channels.
Turn to the left: Tunes to lower
channels.
Category selection
The channel can be selected from among
categories such as ROCK and DANCE.
Consult the XM web site for details of categories.
Categories will switch in order shown
below each time button is pressed.
Upper: Advance to next category.
Lower: Return to previous category.

Switch to XM satellite radio mode.

Press the [RTN] button for less
than one second to switch to the
desired XM bands.

Press the [SELECT] (Right/Left)
button to tune to a channel.

Press the [SELECT] (Right/Left)
button for more than one second
to start the automatic channel
search.

Turn the [VOL] button.

Press the [SELECT] (Upper/Lower)
button for less than one second.
