CD player section
A CD is placed in the player but it cannot be played.
Sound is not produced.
Sound skips.
÷ Place the disc properly, with the label side facing up-
ward.
÷ Clean the disc referring to “Disc handling precau-
tions”.
÷ Refer to “Caution on condensation” and remove the
condensation by evaporation.
÷ Press the CD 6 key.
÷ Clean the disc referring to “Disc handling precau-
tions”.
÷ Clean the disc referring to “Disc handling precau-
tions”.
÷ Install the unit in a place not subject to vibrations.

Remote control unit
Symptom Remedy
Remote control operation is not possible.
÷ Replace with new batteries.
÷ Operate the unit inside the remote controllable range.

Cassette deck
÷ Clean the head referring to “Maintenance”.
÷ Play a recorded tape.
÷ Press operation keys in more than a few seconds after
closing the cassette holder.
÷ Change the tape transport direction or reverse the tape
insertion orientation.
÷ Press in stop mode.
÷ Clean the head referring to “Maintenance”.
÷ Try another tape.
÷ Adjust the AUXinput level.
÷ Demagnetize the head referring to “Maintenance”.
÷ Install the system at a distance from other electric
appliances and TV.
÷ Set the "TAPE EQ." to on.
÷ Clean the head referring to “Maintenance”.
÷ Wind the tape again by fast forwarding, rewinding or
playing from an end to the other.
÷ Use a cassette with an unbroken recording protect tab
or block the hole.
÷ Set the input selector to the source to be recorded.
÷ Change the tape transport direction or reverse the tape
insertion orientation.
Sound cannot be produced by pressing the play key.
No operation occurs even when an operation key is
pressed.
The cassette holders cannot be opened by pressing
theTAPE 0 key.
