Playing the Connected Source
This section shows you how to play the
sources connected to the DVD Receiver.
You may need to see Connecting to a TV
on pages 16 and Connecting to Audio/Video
Equipment on page 19 while following the
steps in this section.
About digital sound
If the equipment is digitally connected to the DVD Receiver,
the sound from the digital input will automatically be selected
and reproduced instead of the analog sound as explained
below.
When the TV source is selected, the digital sound from the
DIGITAL OPTICAL INPUT jack is reproduced.
When the digital sound is reproduced, the DIGITAL indicator
lights up in the display. According to the received sound
system, the ŸDIGITAL or DTS indicator lights up.
Note
The DVD Receiver only reproduces DOLBY DIGITAL, DTS, and
PCM sound formats from connected equipment.

Press Input Selector 2/3 on the
remote controller or Input 2/3 on
the unit to select one of the
following input sources:
TV
TAPE/MD/CDR
The selected input source appears in the
multipurpose display. Also the input
source indicator is lit in the display until
the DVD Receiver is switched to another
input source.
e.g. When TAPE is selected.
Start playing the selected source.
Changing the TAPE display to match the
connected source
1 Press the Input 2/3 button on the unit to select TAPE.
2 Press the Preset Memory button. NAME SEL is displayed then
TAPE flashes in the display.
3 Press the Input 2/3 button repeatedly to select the desired
operation.
The display changes as follows:
TAPEMDCDRTAPE
4 Press the Preset Memory button to select. COMPLETE appears
then the display switches back to the selected input.
