Operations Common to Each Mode
3. Either touch on the right of the
display, or turn the [ROTARY] knob to set
the speaker configuration.
Speaker configuration
Notes:
Sound is not output from the centre speaker
unless the following settings are made when
CTR+SW” is set.
(1) Referring to “Selecting the PLII menu
(Dolby PL II)” (cf. page 17), set the Dolby Pro
Logic II mode to “MUSICor “MATRIX”.
(2) Referring to “Setting speakers ON/OFF
(CENTER-SP/SUB-WOOFER)” (cf. page 45),
set the centre speaker to “ON”.
Sound is not output from the sub-woofer Lch
when “SW
L
+SW
R
” is set and the Dolby Pro
Logic II mode is set to “MUSICor “MATRIX”.
4. Press the [A] button to return to the original
mode.
Setting speakers ON/OFF
(CENTER-SP/SUB-WOOFER)
Set the centre speaker (CENTER-SP) and sub-
woofer (SUB-WOOFER) ON/OFF.
Be sure to set this setting to “OFF” when there
is no centre speaker or sub-woofer.
The centre speaker (CENTER-SP) can be set
when the Dolby Pro Logic II mode is set to
MUSICor “MATRIX”, and “SP-SETTING” is
set to “CTR-SW”.
The factory default setting is “ON”.
1. Press the [A] button to set to the adjust
mode.
2. Touch on the setting item display to
select “CENTER-SP” under “SOUND” and
SUB-WOOFER” under “SOUND”.

Adjusting the filter
frequencies of speakers
(HPF/SUB-W LPF)
This function allows you to adjust the filter
frequency matched to the speakers you are
using.
The filters (HPF/SUB-W LPF) that you can
use differ according to the Dolby Pro Logic II
mode setting.

Adjustment is possible only when
SUB-WOOFER” is set to “ON”.
The factory default setting is “THROUGH”.
Filter adjustment
HPF (high-pass filter adjustment)
This filter cuts bass sound from the front and
rear speakers.
THROUGH 50Hz 80Hz 120Hz
Set the filter matched to the speaker when
small-diameter speakers are used.
THROUGH
Set this when using speakers that can
generate bass.
SUB-W LPF (sub-woofer low-pass filter
adjustment)
This filter cuts treble sound from the sub-woofer.

Set the filter frequency to match the sub-woofer.

Set this when a low-pass filter built-in
powered sub-woofer is used.
