5.1ch Surround Decoder Operations
Setting speakers ON/OFF
(CENTER-SP/SRD-SP/SUB-
WOOFER)
Set the centre speaker (CENTER-SP), surround
speaker (SRD-SP) and sub-woofer (SUB-
WOOFER) ON/OFF.
Be sure to set this setting to “OFF” when there
is no centre speaker, surround speaker or sub-
woofer.
The factory default setting is “ON”.
1. Press the [A] button to set to the adjust
mode.
2. Touch on the setting item display to
select “CENTER-SP” under “SOUND”,
SRD-SP” under “SOUND”, and “SUB-
WOOFER” under “SOUND”.

3. Either touch on the right of the
display, or turn the [ROTARY] knob to select
ON” or “OFF”.
In the case of “SUB-WOOFER”, select
one of “ON+”, “ON-” or “OFF”.
Normally, select “ON+”. However, when
ON-is set, an effect in the low range can
be strongly felt.
4. Press the [A] button to return to the original
mode.
Adjusting the filter
frequencies of speakers
(FRONT HPF/CENTER HPF/
SRD HPF/SUB-W LPF)
This function allows you to adjust the filter
frequency matched to the speakers you are
using.
•A speaker that was turned off in the section
“Setting speakers on or off (CENTER-SP/
SRD-SP/SUB-WOOFER)” is not displayed.
The factory default setting for “FRONT HPF
or “SRD HPF” is “THROUGH” (no filter), and
for “CENTER HPF” or “SUB-W LPF” is
120Hz”.
Filter adjustment
FRONT HPF/CENTER HPF/SRD HPF
(high-pass filter adjustment)
This filter cuts bass sound from the front centre
and surround speakers.
THROUGH 50Hz 80Hz 120Hz
Set the filter matched to the speaker when
small-diameter speakers are used.
THROUGH
Set this when using speakers that can
generate bass. THROUGH cannot be set at
CENTER HPF.
SUB-W LPF (sub-woofer low-pass filter
adjustment)
This filter cuts treble sound from the sub-woofer.
50Hz 80Hz 120Hz
Set the filter frequency to match the sub-woofer.
1. Press the [A] button to set to the adjust
mode.
2. Touch on the setting item display to
select “FRONT HPF” under “SOUND”,
CENTER HPF” under “SOUND”, “SRD
HPF” under “SOUND”, and “SUB-W LPF
under “SOUND”.
