Listening to songs on your
iPod

You can use this unit to control an iPod adapter,
which is sold separately.
These are the basic steps necessary to operate
an iPod adapter. More advanced iPod adapter
operation is explained starting on Introduction
of advanced iPod adapter operation on page 62.
1 Songnumber indicator
Shows the number of song played in the se-
lected list.
2 Bassboost indicator
Shows the bass boost level.
! About the bass boost, refer to Boosting
the bass on page 74.
3 Playtime indicator
Shows the elapsed playing time of the cur-
rent song.
1 Press SOURCE to select the iPod.
Press SOURCE until you see iPod displayed.
2 To perform fast forwardor reverse,
push and hold MULTI-CONTROL left or
right.
3 To skipback or forward to another
song, push MULTI-CONTROL left or right.
Pushing MULTI-CONTROL right skips to the
start of the next song. Pushing
MULTI-CONTROL left once skips to the start
of the current song. Pushing again will skip to
the previous song.
Browsing for a song
The operation of this unit to control an iPod is
designed to be as close to the operation of the
iPod as possible for easy operation and song
search.
1 Press LIST to switch to the top menu of
the list search.
2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select a cate-
gory.
Turn to change the category; press to select.
PLAYLIST (playlists)ARTIST (artists)
ALBUM (albums)SONG (songs)GENRE
(genres)
List from the selected category is displayed.
# You can startplayback throughout the se-
lected category by pressingand holding
MULTI-CONTROL.
# You can alsochange the category by pushing
MULTI-CONTROL up or down.
# You can alsoselect the category by pushing
MULTI-CONTROL right.
# Toreturn to the previouslist, push
MULTI-CONTROL left.
# Togo to the top menuof the list search, push
and hold MULTI-CONTROL left.
# If you do notoperate the list withinabout 30
seconds, the listsearch is cancelled automati-
cally.
