Apparent faults or malfunctions may be easily resolved. Before calling for service, check the table
below for symptoms that match yours.

There is no sound. Check that the system is connected properly, as

Increase the volume.
Cancel the MUTE setting.
If there are headphones plugged into the main unit,
unplug them.

The Standby
indicator is
 ashing red and there is
no sound.
One of the speaker cords is short-circuited. Unplug the
power cord and then reconnect the speaker cord.
There may be an internal problem. Turn o the power
to the main unit, unplug the power cord and request
repairs.

There is no sound
from the headphones.
Check that the headphone plug is inserted correctly.
Increase the volume.
Cancel the MUTE setting.

“CD”, “D-IN 1”, “D-IN 2”,
or “D-IN 3”.
Check that the system is connected properly, as
described in “Connecting the System”.
Check whether “PCM” is selected as the digital audio
output setting on the connected component.
