Notes
! We recommend to keepa record of yourcode
number in case you forget it.
! The parental lock level is recorded onthe disc.
You can confirm it by looking at the disc pack-
age, included literature or on thedisc itself.
With discs that do not featurea recorded par-
ental lock level, you cannot use parentallock.
! With some discs, parental lockoperates to
skip certain scenes only, after whichnormal
playback resumes. For details, refer to the
discs instructions.
Changing the level
You can change the set parental lock level.
1 Touch SETUP and VISUAL and then
touch PARENTAL.
2 Touch 09 to input the registered code
number.
3 Touch ENTER.
This enters the code number, and you can now
change the level.
# If you input an incorrect code number, the
icon
is displayed. Touch Cand input the cor-
rect code number.
# If you forget your code number, refer to If you
forget your code number on this page.
4 Touch any of 18 to select the desired
level.
The new parental lock level is set.
If you forget your code number
Refer to Changing the level on this page, and
touch C 10 times. The registered code number
is canceled, letting you register a new one.
Automatic playback of DVDs
When a DVDs disc with DVD menu is inserted,
this unit will cancel the DVD menu automati-
cally and start playback from the first chapter
of the first title.
! Some DVDs may not operate properly. If
this function is not fully operated, turn this
function off and start playback.
1 Touch SETUP and OTHERS and then
touch DVD AUTO PLAY.
2 Touch a to turn automatic playback on.
# To turn automatic playback off, touch b.
# When the automatic playback is on, you can-
not operate repeating play of DVD disc (refer to
Repeating play on page 29).
Setting remote control
code type
When the remote control operation switch is
set to DVD, changing the remote control code
type enables you to operate the Pioneer DVD
player with the supplied remote control. There
are three remote codes, code type A, code
type B and code type AVH. When operating a
multi-DVD player (e.g. XDV-P9II), select code
