Level Calibration
Adjust the level of each speaker with the built-in test tone. Settings are automatically
configured if you use the Automatic Speaker Setup.
Setting Item Default Value Setting Details
Front Left 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Wide Left 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Center 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Wide Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Front Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Surround Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Back Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.

The setting is not displayed if "Speaker
Configuration" - "Back" is set to other than
"None" and also "Back Channel" is set to other
than "1ch".
Back Left 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.

Subwoofer 1 0 dB Select a value between "-15 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Subwoofer 2 0 dB Select a value between "-15 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Height 1 Left 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Height 1 Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Height 2 Right 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.
Height 2 Left 0 dB Select a value between "-12 dB" to "+12 dB". A
test tone will be output each time you change the
value. Select the desired level.

In the following cases, the settings for "Level Calibration" cannot be changed:
A speaker which is set to "None" in "Speaker Configuration".
"Subwoofer 2" if "Subwoofer" is set to "1ch".
"Subwoofer 1" and "Subwoofer 2" if "Subwoofer" is set to "No".
A speaker which is set to "Not Use" in "Height 1 Speakers Type" or "Height 2 Speakers Type".
Mute (MUTING) is set.

The test tone is output at the standard level for THX, which is 0 dB (absolute volume setting 82). If you
normally listen at volume settings below this, be careful because the test tone will be much louder.

If you are using a handheld sound level meter, adjust the level of each speaker so that it reads 75 dB
SPL at the listening position, measured in C-Weighting and slow reading.
