• An error occurs while files
are being loaded/saved.
USB READ ERROR or USB
WRITE ERROR is displayed.
Is the USB storage device write-
protected?
Turn this unit’s power off (to standby), then cancel the USB storage
device’s write protection function.
Is the USB storage device’s file
system proper?
Only USB storage devices formatted with a FAT16, FAT32 or NTFS
file system can be used.
• Turn this unit’s power off (to standby), then turn it back on.
• Reconnect the USB storage device. If the error occurs again,
format the device in FAT format on a computer, then load/store the
data.
Problem Check Remedy
This unit cannot be
controlled by RS-232C.
Check the Baud Rate (page 47) setting and serial interface
specifications (page 64).
• This unit’s power turns off
(to standby) automatically.
• Power turns off (to standby)
during continuous operation.
Is Auto Power Off set to Enable? When Auto Power Off is set to Enable, this unit’s power
automatically turns off (to standby) if no operation is performed for
over two hours (page 47).
Is HIGH TEMPERATURE AUTO
TURNED OFF displayed on the
main unit display?
This happens when this unit’s internal remains high during
operation for an extended period of time. Check this unit’s
installation conditions.
Remote control does not
work.
Are you operating from too far
away from this unit?
Operate the remote control within a range of seven meters from
the remote control sensor.
Is the remote control locked? When the IR indicator on the main unit’s front panel is lit, operation
of the remote control is locked. Press the LOCK button to unlock it.
Is the RS-232C key lock command
set?
Cancel the key lock command. For details, see the
Communications Interface User’s Manual.
Buttons on the main unit’s
front panel do not operate.
Are the buttons locked? • Set Front Key to Enable (page 47).
• Press the STANDBY/ON button for 10 seconds or more to turn
the power off (to the standby mode) (page 25). If the STANDBY/
ON button does not work, unplug the power cord, wait for the
STANDBY/ON indicator to turn off, then plug the power cord
back in.
Settings you have made have
been cleared.
• Has the power cord been
unplugged while this unit’s power
was on?
• Has there been a power outage?
Be sure to press the STANDBY/ON button and wait until the
POWER OFF message on the main unit’s display turns off before
unplugging the power cord. Be particularly careful when this unit’s
power cord is connected to the AC outlet on another device, as this
unit’s power will turn off (to standby) together with the power of the
other device.
Time is not displayed
properly.
This unit’s clock has a precision of about two minutes per month.
The setting is cleared if the power cord is left unplugged for 7 to 10
days.
External synchronization is
not possible.
Is External Sync set to Off?Set External Sync set to On (page 46).
Is UNMATCHED EXT SYNC
SIGNAL displayed?
• Check that the sync generator is properly connected (page 48).
• Set the sync generator’s frequency properly.
• Check that the sync generator’s frequency is being output
properly.
• The synchronizing signal’s format is not matched. Set the
external synchronizing signal, playback file and Scaler Setting to
the same resolution (page 46).
