Introduction
*1 Click , Control Panel, System and Maintenance, and then click Power
Options.
Hibernation This feature allows you to turn off the power
without exiting from your software. The contents
of main memory are saved to the hard disk,
when you turn on the power again, you can
continue working right where you left off. Refer
to the Turning Off the Power section in Chapter
3, Getting Started, for details
Sleep Mode If you have to interrupt your work, you can turn
off the power without exiting from your software.
Data is maintained in the computer’s main
memory. When you turn on the power again, you
can continue working right where you left off.
USB Sleep and
Charge function
This feature allows you to charge USB-
compatible external devices such as mobile
phones or portable digital music players via the
USB port when your computer is in Sleep Mode,
Hibernation Mode, or in the shutdown state.
This function is worked by the USB Sleep and
Charge Utility. For more information, please refer
to USB Sleep and Charge Function in Chapter 4,
Operating Basics.
USB Wakeup
function
This function restores the computer from Sleep
Mode depending on the external devices
connected to the USB ports.
For example, if a mouse or USB keyboard is
connected to a USB port, moving the mouse/
keyboard will wake up the computer.
The “USB Wakeup function” operates under
Windows
®
Vista operating system and it works
for all USB ports.
TOSHIBA PC Health
Monitor
The TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor software
program monitors computer system functions
such as power consumption, the cooling system
and HDD/SSD Alert. It alerts users of specic
system conditions via pop-up messages. It
also tracks the usage of the computer and
related devices, logging the service relevant
informationon the computer’s hard disk drive.
