Reel Backlap Switches
The front and rear backlap switches are attached to the
reel hydraulic manifold block (Fig. 45). When the back-
lap control valve (MD1 or MD2) is in the Backlap posi-
tion, the switch contacts close. This feature allows only
one person to backlap any of the reels. The backlap
switch circuit also prevents reels from raising during
backlapping. When the backlap control valve (MD1 or
MD2) is in the Mow position, the switch c ontacts open.
These switches can be tested using the “Input Checks”
feature of the ACE Diagnostic tool.

Traction Neutral Switch
The traction switch is normally closed and opens when
traction pedal is depressed in either direction. The
switch is located on the right side of the hydrostatic
transmission.
This switch can be tested using the “Input Checks” fea-
ture of the ACE Diagnostic tool.
The switch can also be tested by disconnecting the
wires from the switch terminals and connecting a conti-
nuity tester across the two terminals that had wires con-
nected to them. With the engine turned off, slowly push
the traction pedal in a forward and reverse direction
while watching the continuity tester. There should be in-
dications that the traction switch is opening and closing.
Allow the traction pedal to return to neutral. There
should be continuity across the terminals. See Chapter
4 - Hydraulic System inthis manual for replacementand
adjustment procedures.
