9. To make an adjustment to the cutting units while
backlapping, turn reels OFF by moving the Lower Mow/
Raise lever rearward; move the Enable/Disable switch
to Disable and turn the engine OFF. After adjustments
have been completed, repeat steps 5--8.
10.When the backlapping operation is completed, run a
fileacrossthe frontfaceofthe bedknife.Thiswill remove
any burrs or rough edges that may have built up on the
cutting edge.
11.Repeat procedure for all cutting units to be backlap-
ped.
12.Whenbacklapoperation hasbeencompleted,return
the backlap levers (or knobs) to the forward flow posi-
tion, lower s eat and wash all lapping compound off cut-
ting units. Adjust cutting unit reel to bedknifeas needed.
Note: If thebacklap levers(or knobs) are not returned
totheforwardflowposition afterbacklapping,thecutting
units will not raise or function properly.
