GRAPHICAL FLIGHT PLANNING
Flight Plans can be created and edited on the GPSMAP 695/696 by using the Map
Area and the FMS Joystick.
Graphical Flight Plan Creation:
1)
Press the FPL Key.
2)
From the Active Flight Plan Page or from the Flight Plan List Page after
pressing the NEW Softkey, press the USE MAP Softkey to activate the map
pointer.
Or
: Press the MENU Key and select ‘Edit on Map’.
3)
Use the FMS Joystick to move the map pointer and rubber band to the
desired point on the map.
NOTE: If the selected map point is a database map feature, its name is inserted
into the Active Flight Plan. If the selected map point is not a database map
feature, a user waypoint may be created and inserted into the Flight Plan.
4)
With the desired waypoint selected press the ENT Key. The waypoint is
added to the flight plan and the APPEND Softkey is selected. To view
information about a waypoint without adding it to the flight plan, deselect
the APPEND Softkey and press the ENT Key
