The phone is compatible with the Presence and Instant Messaging features of
Microsoft

Windows
®
Messenger 5.1. In a future release, support for the Presence and
Instant Message recommendations in the SIP Instant Messaging and Presence Lever-
aging Extensions (SIMPLE) proposals will be provided:
• draft-ietf-simple-cpim-mapping-01
• draft-ietf-simple-presence-07
• draft-ietf-simple-presencelist-package-00
• draft-ietf-simple-winfo-format-02
• draft-ietf-simple-winfo-package-02
or their successors.
5.2.4 Shared Call Appearance Signaling
A shared line is an address of record managed by a server. The server allows multiple
end points to register locations against the address of record.
The phone supports shared call appearances (SCA) using the SUBSCRIBE-NOTIFY
method in the “SIP Specific Event Notification” framework (RFC 3265). The events
used are:
• “call-info” for call appearance state notification
• “line-seize for the phone to ask to seize the line
Method Supported Notes
INFO Yes RFC 2976, the phone does not generate INFO requests, but will
issue a final response upon receipt. No INFO message bodies
are parsed.
MESSAGE Yes Final response is sent upon receipt. Message bodies of type
text/plain are sent and received.
