Sound Program Edit

When playing back different content types on the
same source, or when listening to a single content
type on different sources, you can pre-register the
settings that best suit each content in “Sound
Program”. The registered settings can then be called
up and modified in one set. Use “Sound Program
Edit” to register and modify a combination of settings.
Tip
• To select the registered settings, see “Sound Program”
(➔ page 58).
■ Listening Mode
You can assign a default listening mode that will be
selected automatically when you select the sound
program.
The “Last Valid” option means that the listening
mode selected last will be used.
The “Straight Decode” option means that straight
decoding listening mode (Dolby Digital, DTS, etc.) is
selected.
■ Subwoofer

You can choose whether or not to use the subwoofer
with the sound program.

•“Listening Mode” is only available when the input signal
matches the setting of “Sound Program”.
• You cannot select the “Subwoofer” setting if you set it to
“No” in “Speaker Configuration”.
•“Music Optimizer” is only available when “Stereo
Source 1”, “Stereo Source 2” or “Stereo Source 3” is
selected.
• When “Audyssey Quick Start” has been used for
measurement, the “Audyssey”setting cannot be selected.

setting is set to “Pure Audio” or “Direct”.

Audyssey

The tone for each speaker is set automatically by
Audyssey MultEQ
®
XT32 Room Correction and
Speaker Setup. To enable the following settings, you
must first perform the Room Correction and Speaker
Setup (➔ page 28).
• These technologies cannot be used when a pair of
headphones is connected.
■ Audyssey
`Off
`Movie:
Select this setting for movie material.
The Audyssey indicator will light.
`Music:
Select this setting for music material.
The Audyssey indicator will light.

• When “Audyssey Quick Start” has been used for
measurement, “Audyssey” cannot be selected.
