Controlling Other Components

Note
Though the provided remote control codes are correct at
the time of release, they are subject to change.
You can change the configuration of colored buttons,
with which REMOTE MODE buttons are preset.
Tip
To reset the REMOTE MODE buttons to their default
settings, see “Resetting the REMOTE MODE Buttons”.
Note
If any other button than the colored buttons is pressed, the
operation will be cancelled.
This operation cannot be done while the AV receiver is in
Receiver mode or when Zone 2/3 is active.
Onkyo components that are connected via are
controlled by pointing the remote controller at the AV
receiver, not the component. This allows you to
control components that are out of view, in a rack, for
example.
Controlling Onkyo components without
If you want to control an Onkyo component by
pointing the remote controller directly at it, or you
want to control an Onkyo component that’s not
connected via , use the following remote control
codes:

You can reset a REMOTE MODE button to its default
remote control code.

Within 30 seconds, use the number buttons to
enter the 5-digit remote control code.
The REMOTE MODE button flashes twice.
If the remote control code is not entered
successfully, the REMOTE MODE button will
flash once slowly.
Remapping Colored Buttons

While holding down the REMOTE MODE
button that you want to program, press and
hold down A (Red) until the REMOTE MODE
button lights (about 3 seconds).
You can only change colored buttons for
components whose codes belong to categories
of the Remote Control Codes list (BD/DVD
player, TV, cable set-top box, etc).

Within 30 seconds, press the colored buttons
in the order that you want to reassign them.
The button presses are assigned to each button
from left to right. The REMOTE MODE button
flashes twice, indicating that the sequence has
been successfully assigned. If the sequence is
not successfully assigned, the REMOTE MODE
button will flash once slowly.
Remote Control Codes for Onkyo
Components Connected via RI

Make sure the Onkyo component is connected
with an cable and an analog audio cable
(RCA).
See “Connecting Onkyo RI Components” for
details (page 24).

Enter the appropriate remote control code for
a REMOTE MODE button, by referring to the
previous section.

Press the REMOTE MODE button, point the
remote controller at the AV receiver, and
operate the component.
Resetting the REMOTE MODE Buttons

While holding down the REMOTE MODE
button that you want to reset, press and hold
down HOME until the REMOTE MODE button
lights (about 3 seconds).

Within 30 seconds, press the REMOTE MODE
button again.
The REMOTE MODE button flashes twice,
indicating that the button has been reset.
Each REMOTE MODE button is preprogrammed
with a remote control code. When a button is
reset, its preprogrammed code is restored.
Note
The learning command is also reset.
