The following procedure tells you how to remove the Backlight board and
reinstall the same board (for example, to gain access to another assembly). To
replace the Backlight board, you must replace the LCD Display assembly;
contact your Tektronix representative to order the replacement kit, which
includes installation instructions.
NOTE. The Backlight board is present only in instruments with serial numbers
below B020100 that have not been upgraded. At serial number B020100, the
Backlight board was incorporated into the new LCD Display assembly.
If your instrument has an SDI board installed, be careful not to disconnect the
cables from the SDI board.
Remove. To remove the Backlight board:
1. Remove the top cover. Refer to Top Cover on page 6--5.
2. Disconnect the two backlight wires from the LC D display assembly. See
Figure 6--10.
3. Remove the battery cover. Refer to Battery Cover on page 6--25.
4. Lift on the Bottom board while pressing on the battery connector in the
battery compartment.
5. Gently pull the Backlight board from the back of the Bottom board and
remove the board from the instrument.
Replace. To replace the Backlight board:
1. Be sure that the Backlight board shield is in place.
2. Install the Backlight board into the back of the B ottom board.
3. Align the Backlight and Input boards with the slots in the bottom cover and
gently slide the boards into the bottom cover.
4. Connect the two backlight wires to the LCD display assembly.
5. Install the top cover. Refer to Top Cover on page 6--5.
6. Install the battery cover. Refer to Battery Cover on page 6--25.
